After looking at bat house plans online, I borrowed from a couple and made my own. Mainly I used the Carlsbad Caverns design but I tweaked it a little for less waste. My plan will make two bat houses from three sticks – 2 1×6x8 and 1 2×4x8 boards.
I’ve made one house, but I didn’t take any pictures. I’ll make the second one and get some pictures up. (Hey – I’m doing it just like Norm!) The overall dimensions are 14.5″W x 17.5″H x 3″D outside and 11.25″W x 15.75″H x 1.5″D inside. Look for construction details in the next post, but you can get the idea from this screen shot of the design.
